Saga Quad States Communications, LLC ("KOAM-TV") and Surtsey Media, LLC ("KFJX-TV") [the stations] will be conducting the "Snowfall" Contest [the contest] starting on or around November 15, 2012. No purchase is necessary to enter or win the contest. The contest will be conducted on-line.
The contest will begin with viewers entering at www.koamtv.com or www.fox14tv.com, click on the Weather Page and then on the "Snowfall Contest" link & fill-out the registration. Contestants must predict when the first measurable one-inch (1") snowfall will occur at the Joplin, MO Regional Airport--an official National Weather Service reporting station. Contestants must submit a specific date (for example: December 10, 2012 or February 1, 2013, etc) between November 15, 2012 and March 31, 2013, inclusive.
Entry must include: Contestant's First and Last name, Street Address, day and night time telephone numbers, date of birth, and one (1) specific date contestant thinks one-inch (1") of snowfall (or more than one-inch) will occur. Once the first measurable snowfall has occurred, all entries with the correct date of the first measurable one-inch snowfall will be qualified. The contest will conclude after the first "measurable, one-inch, snowfall" of the 2012-2013 winter weather season as determined by the National Weather Service reporting station at the Joplin, MO Regional Airport.
Entries will be accepted for two weeks: November 16, 2012 through November 30, 2012.
The winter weather season is defined as November 15, 2012 through March 31, 2013, inclusive. Measurable snowfall is defined as the first one inch (1") of accumulated snow recorded at the Joplin Regional Airport (JLN), 7331 N. Highway 43, Webb City, MO 64870.
Contest winner will win a Sony® Bravia 32" BX33 Television, S01-5361730-B. Estimated retail value $329.00.
Only one entry per person for the duration of the contest.
In the event more than one (1) contestant predicts the same date the station will randomly draw from all qualified entries to select the contest winner. Or, in the event one-inch of measurable snowfall does not occur during the winter weather season all qualified contest entries will be entered in a random drawing to select the contest winner.
Odds of winning are based upon the number of incoming entries, which cannot be determined at this time.
Contestants must live in the 14 county Designated Market Area (DMA) which includes the following counties: In Kansas; Woodson, Allen, Bourbon, Wilson, Neosho, Crawford, Labette, and Cherokee. In Oklahoma; Ottawa. And in Missouri; Vernon, Barton, Jasper, Newton, and McDonald. Contestants who cannot prove residency within the DMA, or do not otherwise meet all eligibility requirements, will be disqualified and the prize will not be awarded.
Contest void where prohibited.
The stations reserve the right to disqualify any contestant in the event that contest rules have been violated. All winners must sign a release acknowledging that either KOAM-TV or KFJX-TV has the right to, without further authorization, reasonably use the winner's name, voice, photo (still or video), likeness and/or biographical information, and that the stations may use such for promotional purposes on-the-air without further financial remuneration. In addition, contest winners release Saga Quad States Communications, LLC and Surtsey Media LLC, their parent corporations, their officers, directors, stockholders and employees from any and all claims, liabilities and damages arising directly or indirectly from award or use of the prize.
All prizes must be claimed at the stations studios during regular business hours 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. (This requirement may be waived when circumstances make it appropriate to do so) Winners are required to present valid identification as described in rule #2. All identification submitted to verify a winner is subject to verification and acceptance by the stations at its sole discretion. Identification that is counterfeit, illegible, tapered with or otherwise altered will not be accepted. The stations can require presentation of an original birth certificate, passport, Social Security card, valid driver's license or other identification to verify the winner's identity. Only one winner per household, per family, for the duration of the contest will be permitted. The winning prize is non-transferable.
Prizewinners must come to the stations studios within thirty (30) days of their prize being awarded to claim his/her prize. Failure to collect the prize within the specified period constitutes forfeiture of the prize. If forfeited, the prize will remain the property of the stations. Another winner will not be selected.
The stations reserve the right to alter the contest rules and/or contest dates at any time.
All decisions of management regarding the "Snowfall" contest are final.
In the event that the winner is subject to, or the subject of, any order of legal process issued by any government agency having jurisdiction over the affairs of the winner,(e.g. garnishment, child support order, judgment, lien and the like), Saga Quad States Communication's and Surtsey Media LLC's delivery of the prize to the official government entity claiming right to the prize shall be entitled to rely in good faith upon any documents presented by the representatives seeking to collect the prizes in lieu of the winner. Saga Quad States Communications LLC and Surtsey Media LLC shall not be liable for any claim by winner for damage incidental thereto.
A copy of the rules is available at the stations main studios, 10 miles south of Pittsburg KS on Highway 60/400, and at the stations Joplin office, 745 Rangeline, during normal business hours, or on the website at www.koamtv.com and www.fox14tv.com.
